Welcome to the Assessment Certification Examination (ACE) website, which provides current, easily accessible information to principals, teachers, parents and students about the rules and procedures set by the Board of Studies for secondary education in New South Wales.
This website replaces the ACE Manual (2005). It provides enhanced support to schools in their implementation of requirements under the Education Act 1990 (NSW) and the Board’s policies in relation to Years 7–12 assessment, certification and examination programs.
ACE provides up-to-date information on the Board’s policies in relation to the Higher School Certificate and the Record of School Achievement.
ACE reflects the recent legislative and policy changes associated with the Record of School Achievement in Stage 5. The Board’s policies in relation to Years 7–10 curriculum are incorporated in the ACE website.
ACE has been updated to include assessment and credentialling policies and procedures for Stage 6 Preliminary courses.
The Board’s requirements regarding the retention of student work samples and corresponding assessment tasks in Stage 5 and Stage 6 Preliminary courses are included in the updated ACE.
